Jakub Górnicki po przeczytaniu informacji (post niżej) o tym, że autor Basic Thinking postanowił sprzedać swój blog napisał do mnie, że może uda mu ...
Why are you sellling?
I want to build something new. I am not the kind of guy who manages something successful, I am more like the guy who builds it. So Basicthinking.de has now reached a point to make a good exit and give me the freedom to start something else.
When is a good time to sell?
The perfect point is the moment you can not grow that much more anymore. Your brand just gets older, but not very much bigger. Techblogs are still a niche, even though a big one. At some point you have got your niche und so you are very near to the maximum of profits and traffic you can make. That is the moment to think about it.
What are you going to do after this?
I am going to concentrate on a b2b blog, mainly in English. This is a completely different field, lots to learn and do, and there is more potential.
Was ebay the best platform choice for an exit?
Well, it depends. There were quite a few good offers for a lot of money that reached me via Email and phone. But I think it will work with ebay, too.
What do you tell the critics that say "Basicthinking.de/blog is about you, and if you go it will be dead"?
Most of my readers don't even understand that the blog is a word game with my surname. In the (still small) blogger scene in Germany I might be well known, but most of my readers only know the blog name and are not really interested in my person. So most readers will be very interested, curious and give the new owner a good chance. I think this is a good deal for everyone.
Thanks for giving me some of your time.
No, it's always a pleasure. I am open for all questions, especially from neighbouring countries.
