W piątek wróciłem z San Diego gdzie na zaproszenie intela miałem przyjemność wziąć udział w Intel Global Summit. Jest to coroczne spotkanie inwestorów i spółek portfelowych Intel Capital. W konferencji w tym roku brało udział ponad 1100 osób.
O samej imprezie napiszę w osobnym poście natomiast teraz chciałem skupić się na trendach i pokazać wam trendy inwestycyjne Intela. Podczas Intel Global Summit odbyła się konferencja prasowa na której Intel Capital ogłosił aż 16 nowych inwestycji na które w sumie wydał 65 milionów dolarów!
W co więc inwestuje Intel Capital? Jest to przede wszystkim Cloud, Big Data i usługi analityczne, centra danych, mobile, usługi konsumenckie oraz technologie ubierane. Szczególnie Cloud oraz technologie ubierane były czymś mocno widocznym wśród 16 nowych startupów i podczas samej konferencji.
Nowe 16 inwestycji to przede wszystkim Cloud którym zajmują się aż 3 nowe spółki. W tym co ciekawe CloudFX który oferuje usługi konsultingowe odnośnie wdrażania Clouda w firmach.
Do portfolio Intela weszła też firma WiTricity która obiecuje wprowadzić bezprzewodowe zasilanie. Podczas konferencji prasowej nie chcieli zdradzić nawet przybliżonych terminów wejścia na rynek ich rozwiązań, mają natomiast już za sobą wdrożenia w wojsku (o których niestety nie mogli za wiele powiedzieć).
"Szerokość" zainteresowań Intel Capital pokazują natomiast dwie inne firmy czyli Savaari Car Rentals - wypożyczanie samochodów w Indiach oraz Finlandzki SkySQL który jest dostawcą baz danych (chwalili się, że na ich liście klientów jest min. Facebook)
W śród 16 nowych inwestycji nie zabrakło też firm który swój potencjał budują na technologi i wiedzy inżynieryjnej. W tej grupie wymieniłbym na przykład Amerykański SBA Materials tworzący materiał (low-k dielectric) który może podnieść wydajność zaawansowanych chipsetów używanych w urządzeniach mobilnych oraz obniżać ich pobór energii. Inny przykład to Tajwański Lintes Technologies, który dostarcza innowacyjne produkty poprawiające i przyspieszające transfer danych zarówno na poziomie klasycznych PC jak również serwerów.
Listę wszystkich nowych inwestycji Intela znajdziecie poniżej (opis w EN). Niestety na liście nie znajdziecie żadnej Polskiej firmy, nie znajdziecie też firmy z Europy wschodniej. Widać za to silną reprezentacje z krajów Azjatyckich, jak zwykle z Izrale oraz z rodzimej ziemi Intela czyli USA.
